IMPRS-ESM Call for Applications - Request for Reference Letter

Dear Referee,

The ‘International Max Planck Research School on Earth System Modelling’ (IMPRS-ESM) in Hamburg kindly asks for your support with our recruitment. One of our applicants chose you to comment on their academic qualification for doctoral study. Your recommendation letter will be essential in the selection process. We highly appreciate your open and critical assessment which will help us to evaluate the candidate and rank the application within the competition.

To facilitate a fair and comparative assessment of all applicants, we designed a standardized reference sheet. We kindly ask you to

  • download the standardized reference sheet and after filling it in
  • upload it into our application portal (via the link which was previously sent to you) until 20 September.

In case of questions, do not hesitate to contact us through office.imprs@we dont want spammpimet.mpg.de. Thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely
Dr. Florian Mundt

For your information -
The Max Planck Institute for Meteorology and the Universität Hamburg established a 3-year doctoral program
which is predominantly sponsored by the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science and hosted at the
Max Planck Institute for Meteorology. Doctoral candidates follow a training program with a strong component in
modelling. They are involved in the application, evaluation, and development of a spectrum of Earth system
models at different temporal and spatial scales. IMPRS-ESM doctoral candidates are selected from the pool of
applicants according to their qualification and aptitude in special fields of research within the broad field of Earth
system modelling. Successful candidates will receive financial support through a doctoral contract.
