Forschungsinteressen

Mein Hauptinteresse gilt der Simulation des Erdsystems, wobei ich mich besonders auf den Wasserkreislauf an der Landoberfläche konzentriere. Ich beschäftige mich vor allem mit Forschungsfragen im Zusammenhang mit Permafrost, Bodenhydrologie und Feuchtgebieten in arktischen Regionen sowie deren Wechselwirkungen mit der Atmosphäre. Darüber hinaus arbeite ich an der effizienten Implementierung solcher Prozesse in das ICON-LAND-Modell und entwickle spezifische Elemente für die Modellinfrastruktur, um die arktische Landschaft ausreichend detailliert abbilden zu können. Es macht mir sehr viel Spaß, nachhaltigen Quellcode zu schreiben, der auch nach Abschluss der jeweiligen Projekte zur Verbesserung des Gesamtmodells beiträgt.
