Research interests

My primary area of interest lies in simulating the Earth System, with a particular focus on studying the hydrological cycle on the land surface. My research questions revolve around the impact of permafrost, soil hydrology, and wetlands on Arctic regions, including their interactions with the atmosphere. Additionally, I work on integrating these processes efficiently into the ICON-LAND model and developing specialized model infrastructure to represent the Arctic landscape in adequate detail. One of my passions is creating sustainable source code that continues to enhance the overall model even after the completion of specific projects.
