Lecture series - The 3 question marks and the riddle of the iconological climate model

In an old shed on the Bundesstrasse, the ??? discover a mysterious machine. The sparkling device creates a seemingly endless series of parallel virtual realities - is the earth doomed?

Experience how our three heroes solve the mystery of the climate machine. How does the iconological climate model work? How can its results be deciphered?

Other roles include: the laws of Newton and Moore, as well as - for the first time - the dynamic duo Bonnie Turbulence and Clyde Convection.

The lecture considers climate research as a simulation-based science, it deals with the basic principles of climate models, the interpretation of their results, as well as current technological challenges. These questions will be exemplified by the climate model ICON of the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology.
