  • Invited as a guest speaker to give an oral presentation at the School of Mathematical Sciences, UCD, Dublin (March 2012).
  • 30th Conference on Hurricanes and Tropical Meteorology (April 2012); Oral presentation: A numerical study of rotating convection during tropical cyclogenesis.
  • Attended the 4th ISAC Summer School, 2012 in Lecce, Italy. The topic was Severe Convective Weather: Theory and Applications.
  • Awarded the Royal Meteorological Society (RMS) Rupert Ford Travel Award (2013) to visit the Tropical Regional Forecasting Centre, Darwin, Australia, for three weeks in early January 2014. Worked directly with the forecasters when a tropical cyclone warning was issued.
  • Presented a seminar on A numerical study of rotating convection during tropical cyclogenesis in The Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California (March 2014) during a three week working visit.
  • 31st Conference on Hurricanes and Tropical Meteorology, San Diego (April 2014); Oral presentation: Tropical Cyclone Convection: The Effect of Boundary Layer Wind Profiles.
