Joint Seminar: Copernicus Roadmap for European Climate Projections – Effects of Resolution, Ensemble Design & Initialisation

The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) Roadmap for European Climate Projections (CRECP) guides requirements and resource allocations for the operational phase of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). CRECP is drawing upon climate research and modelling activities, and expertise from across Europe and beyond, including best practices from several precursor FP7 and H2020 climate service projects such as UPSCALE & PRIMAVERA. Bernd Eggen will introduce Copernicus &C3S and present results from the analysis of GCMs, comparing how resolution and ensemble size are affecting the characterisation of phenomena identified as relevant to European regions: intense precipitation, heatwaves and windstorms.
