KlimaCampus Kolloquium: Sea level projections: why are uncertainties so large?

The recent IPCC report provides a new assessment of sea level changes expected to occur on a global scale under various climate scenarios at the end of the century and beyond. New in the assessment is also a discussion of the regional pattern of possible changes in sea level and underlying causes. In all cases, remaining uncertainties are large. The talk will summarize involved processes today and in the future. It will in particular discuss certainties intrinsic to existing climate projections of sea level.
