Nicola Maher

I was working as a postdoc for Jochem Marotzke here at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology. I investigate modes of climate variability and how they might change in the future. I work mostly with large ensembles as well as data from CMIP.  I began a CIRES Fellowship at the University of Colorado, Boulder in November 2020.

I currently work with single model initial-condition large ensembles (SMILEs). My work with large ensembles includes:

I was previously an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow here at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg, Germany working with Jochem Marotzke.

I completed my PhD entitled: Natural drivers of Interannual to Decadal Variations in Surface Climate in September 2016
at the Climate Change Research Centre and the CoE Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science under the supervision of Professor Matthew England and Dr. Alex Sen Gupta.
