My name is Leonore Jungandreas. Currently, I am a PhD student at the Max-Planck Insitute for Meteorology in Hamburg. I am collaborating with Martin Claussen and Cathy Hohenegger for the Green Sahara Project. It is about reproducing the conditions of the mid-Holocene Green Sahara with high-resolution simulations. The West African Monsoon system is of special interest. We want to simulate it more realistic, as it transported much more precipitation northward. Therefore the present-day desert was much more humid and vegetated during the mid-Holocene.

Furthermore, I am interested in deep convection processes and land-atmosphere interactions.
