Boundary Layer Measurements and Modeling

The group aims at understanding the complex interactions between the land and atmosphere on time scales corresponding to the fast diurnal response of the surface and the atmospheric boundary layer. Boundary layer measurements and modeling is a joint working group of MPI-M and the University of Hamburg focusing on the evaluation and improvement of land-atmosphere coupling in terms of the representation of near surface energy-, matter-, and momentum exchange fluxes in JSBACH.
