This study would analyze and compare tropical wave number frequency spectra in the upper troposphere in ERA-interim and in ECHAM6 and MPI-ESM simulations, thus provide a quantitative description of the wave spectrum and its fluctuations in time due to the seasonal cycle (the QBO) and El Nino.
