Why do some modelling studies find the Southern Ocean region to be so critical for radiative feedbacks, whereas others do not? Why is the order of the steps followed to calculate local feedbacks so critical for their magnitude? In this talk I explore the impact of methodology in calculating the local climate feedback parameter, and how this helps reconcile conflicts in exisiting studies of feedback change and inter-model differences.
