Climate science is becoming increasingly politicized. This presentation discusses the background for this evolution, arguing that - whether liking it or not - this is the time to adapt to the new role as climate scientists in the post-factual society. This adaptation process in parts call for enhanced training in science communication and interaction with media, policy and pseudoskepticism, especially for early career scientists. In his talk, Dr. Knudsen shares his own experiences from climate awareness initiatives, including his 3000-km long run from Tromsø (Norway) to Paris (France). The goal of the talk is not to provide the listener with an answer, but rather energize a debate on the role climate scientists should take on in the era of Trump and Brexit.
