KlimaCampus Kolloquium: How geoengineering might work in practice

Abstract:

Since Paul Crutzen's 2006 paper, geoengineering has emerged as a possible intervention to combat climate change. Most studies of "solar radiation management" have been Gedankenexperiments. In this talk I will discuss how geoengineering might work in practice. When and how would it be used? What are examples of the deployment challenges? If it were used how could we tell it was working as intended or monitor its side effects?
