Working with ECHAM

This 5-day block course introduces the use of ECHAM6 through lectures and computer exercises. The course comprises how to compile and run ECHAM6, how to get a simple graphical representation of the results and how to modify and programme new features in ECHAM6. The programming part is also treating the data structures and overall structure of the code of ECHAM6. Participants are expected to have some basic knowledge of UNIX and FORTRAN. ECHAM6 is written in FORTRAN90, all special FORTRAN90 structures that are present in ECHAM6 will be explained in the course.
