PhD Topic
Ocean-atmosphere interactions and their links to weather patterns, teleconnections and climate extremes over the northern hemisphere.
I am interested in changes in internal variability under global warming. Specifically, I am looking at changes in the internally generated North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) extremes in a warming climate. The NAO extremes play an important role in generating extreme weather events such as heat waves or floods over Europe and North America, which are mainly due to internal variability. However, the study of human impacts on such internally generated NAO extremes is lacking.
