Relative change of precipitation for 2071-2100 compared to 1989-2005

Warming intensifies the water cycle and precipitation increases on global average. At the same time, however, there is a redistribution causing some areas to receive more precipitation and others less. The visualization shows the seasonal cycle of the mean precipitation change (given in percent) for the end of this century relative to the period 1989-2005. The red areas depict a decrease in the mean monthly precipitation, whereas blue areas represent an increase.

Scenario: RCP8.5
Simulation period: seasonal cycle, 2071-2100 compared to 1989-2005
